Job Type: Full-time

Company Overview

Cabinet IQ is the fastest-growing cabinet and countertop provider in the country, known for our obsession with delivering a 6-star customer experience. Our success is built on world-class systems, proven processes, and the top-tier professionals who bring it all to life. As a national leader in high-quality kitchen cabinetry and countertops, we’re proud to be expanding with a brand-new location right here in the heart of Sugar Land!

This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of something exciting. We're not waiting for the showroom to open — we're building momentum now. Join our dynamic team, help shape dream kitchens and baths from concept to reality, and grow with us as we scale to new heights. For the right candidate, this role could lead to significant advancement opportunities — including the potential to become a General Manager overseeing multiple showrooms.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a rockstar Kitchen and Bath Designer/Sales Professional — someone who is talented, creative, outgoing, and proactive. The ideal candidate is well-versed in premium cabinetry and countertop brands and has a strong background in kitchen and bath design. A keen eye for detail, deep knowledge of materials, and a passion for transforming clients’ visions into beautiful realities are essential.

You’ll work both independently and collaboratively with clients, contractors, installers, ownership, and our lead generation team to deliver projects that exceed expectations. Given the face-to-face nature of client interactions — often in their private homes — you must be based in or around the Sugar Land/Houston area.

If you're energetic, dependable, honest, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is key, we want to hear from you. This is a role for someone who doesn’t just deliver a 5-star experience — they aim for 6.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pursue new business opportunities in conjunction with owners and the lead generation team, manage CRM/contacts, and follow up on leads to maximize sales.
  • Generate referral sources, build contacts within the home services industry, and attend local professional networking meetups to cultivate relationships with allied trade professionals.
  • Meet in person with clients (at homes, showroom, or off-site) to understand their vision, needs, and preferences for kitchen and bath cabinetry, countertops, and projects.
  • Take field measurements and create detailed design concepts using design software (2020/Design Live) from architectural plans, presenting them for discussions and approval.
  • Understand customer requirements, curate product selections, select materials, finishes, and hardware based on preferences and project needs.
  • Ensure designs meet local building codes, industry standards, and provide accurate cost estimates for materials and installation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, installation teams, and a remote junior designer (for assistance in generating plans) to execute designs accurately and offer solutions for any challenges.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the design, sales, and installation phases, including follow-through for leads, quotes, and a 5-6 star experience via education, accurate measurements, and impeccable service.
  • Staff the cabinet showroom on a daily basis (unless at off-site appointments) and ensure customer follow-up to align with company goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in kitchen and bath design, cabinetry, and countertops.
  • Participate in ongoing training and personal development programs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years (10 years preferred) proven experience as a kitchen/bath designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Expertise in design software (2020/Design Live specifically) and cabinet design, including European designs.
  • Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, countertop materials (e.g., granite, quartz, marble), and installation techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to read, write, and speak English well.
  • Outgoing, proactive, professional demeanor with fundamental math skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, energetic, dependable, honest, with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
  • Updated on market trends and impeccable customer service leading to five-star reviews.
  • A degree or certification in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field is preferred (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Construction experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with MS Office Products (Word, Excel).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, commission, and bonus structure.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance.
  • Paid time off, all major holidays, and an employee discount on products and services.
  • A brand-new, inspirational showroom to work in, plus a high-powered work laptop for designs.
  • Access to a world-class CRM software, and our Signature Sales Process (collecting design retainers upfront for premium service).
  • A collaborative, creative, and fun work environment with passionate professionals.
  • Opportunities for career growth and development, including management roles like General Manager for the right candidate to oversee multiple territories.
  • Reports to: Store Manager/Owner.
